A Spring bagel bar

I am dreaming of being able to enjoy our patio and eating outside. With the summer heat in Phoenix right now, it’s like the east coasts winters....we are forced to stay indoors until the weather (in our case) cools down. Can’t wait to enjoy some good eats like this breakfast bagel bar again once fall hits.

Do you have a favorite outdoor spot that you like to entertain at? Our patio is like our "other" living room when the weather is nice here in Phoenix. We live out there all fall, most winter and all of spring.

We love to #entertain outdoors when we can. We got one last hoorah in before the heat came. We had our sweet friends, who also happen to be our neighbors over for a nice little brunch.

I created this little bagel bar like I do my cheeseboards. I figure out my main food items, then branch off from there. In this case, I wanted to do more of a bagel and lox spread. I wanted to recreate my favorite bagel I order from our local bagel stop close to our house.

I went to Trader Joe's and picked up a package of their smoked salmon, plain bagels, whipped cream cheese, capers, sliced red onion and avocado. Mmm...mmm...mmm my mouth is watering just typing this out.

It's as simple as that...slice and toast your bagel, schmear your cream cheese on, layer your salmon, onions, capers and avocado. Maybe mix it up and add some scrambled eggs and pair it nicely with some fresh fruit, cantaloupe wrapped in prosciutto, hot coffee and o.j. You got yourself a sweet little brunch!
