The BEST steak and chicken marinade

Updated: Aug 14, 2018

This marinade I used for my husband's 45th birthday celebration I shared about. I first happened upon this recipe for the steak when my husband came home from work with some steak a co-worker grilled for the staff. It literally was the best flavored flank steak I had tasted. And I messed with the recipe a bit to suite my liking and increased the ratio to the amount of steak I needed to marinade. I also incorporated the marinade to work with chicken, which you will see here in my post. I used the same recipe but didn't add the Soy and Worcestershire sauces. I hope you like them as much as we do. This has quickly become my staple and go to marinade for both steak and chicken.

Steak Marinade: for 3-5lbs of flank steak

3/4 c. White Vinegar

2/3 c. Soy Sauce

1/2 c. Worcestershire Sauce

1 1/4 c. E.V.O.O. (extra virgin olive oil)

1/2 bunch fresh chopped cilantro

3 tsp. cumin

3 tsp.garlic powder

 3 tsp. oregano

3 tsp. smoked paprika

2 tsp. chili powder

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. fresh ground black pepper

The juice of 5 limes (save the squeezed limes to set in with meat while marinating)

5-6 minced garlic cloves

Whisk all ingredients together then pour over flank steak in a large container with a lid. Refrigerate for at least 8 hours up to 48 hours. When ready to grill, pull out of refrigerator and allow to sit on counter to come to room temperature before putting on grill. Once grilled, allow to set for at least 20mins before cutting into it, to allow the juices to lock in. Top with your favorite fajita topping and enjoy!

Be Inspired,
